City Sprouts in the News: City Sprouts' Grow with Us Gala Featured in OWH

The Labor Day edition of Omaha World-Herald's Around and About section featured an article on City Sprouts' Grow with Us Gala. Our annual fundraiser raised around $45,000 to support our Urban Farming Internship program, which offers underserved high school students an opportunity to study horticulture, agriculture, nutrition and related subjects. Gourmet chefs from Omaha restaurants composed dishes from ingredients found in the City Sprouts gardens in the "Afternoon of Culinary Adventure."

Chef Chase Grove of The Grey Plume makes ice cream with the help of guest sous chef Jen Parker. Behind is master of ceremonies Kayla Thomas.
