About the Event

This workshop will introduce participants to advanced techniques for creating and applying homemade and commercial organic fertilizers and pesticides. Unlike chemical fertilizers and pesticides, these organic inputs preserve and promote soil health while boosting plant productivity and crop quality. Organic inputs discussed may include: compost tea, fermented plant juice, biochar and indigenous microorganisms (IMOs). Participants may use the knowledge gained in this course to evaluate which methods are best for their growing context and may be incorporated into their fertilization and pest management plan.

Registration fees for Growing Gardeners Workshops are suggested donations of $5/person for lecture-style classes, and $10/person for value-added classes (i.e., take-home goods, cooking classes, etc.). No one will be turned away for inability to pay.

Part of City Sprouts' mission is to provide educational opportunities to the community. Please be honest about what you can afford, so we may continue to provide equitable opportunities for all. Thank you!
