City Sprouts offers workshops and classes, educational programming, and more to educate the community about gardening and healthy lifestyle choices. Click the individual programs below for more details!

Growing gardeners workshop series

We offer year-round, hands-on workshops for anyone wanting to learn about growing, cooking, preserving, and eating healthy, local food. These classes are usually free (donations appreciated), and are geared toward adults.

little sprouts: youth gardening program

Little Sprouts is a youth gardening program that takes place at City Sprouts on Saturdays during the summer. The program is geared for youth ages 3-7 years old. All programs are free and family-friendly.

Bilingual workshops

Within our Growing Gardeners Workshops, we specifically offer bilingual classes in both English and Spanish at our City Sprouts South campus.

garden to table: Middle school program

Garden-To-Table is an after-school program offered in partnership with The Big Garden. City Sprouts participates in running the program at the Lewis and Clark and King Science middle schools.

truck farm omaha:

mobile education

Truck Farm Omaha (TFO) is a mobile education program that brings part of the farm right to your group or classroom. Our programming covers a variety of topics, from chickens and bees to worms and gardening

summer urban farming internship:

YA program

Our Urban Farming Internship provides part-time employment to 16 young adults, ages 16-21 years old between our Decatur Urban Farm on our north campus and our Free Farm on our City Sprouts South campus.

Soil Health + Conservation Initiatives

Our Soil Health + Conservation program feature workshops, field days, and other events to support urban growers in accessing technical assistance, adopting conservation practices, and improving their soil health.

home grown kids:
Daytime Homeschool

program

Homegrown kids will feature weekly lessons during an eight-week session for homeschooled kids ages 8-12. Education on growing food, preparing healthy meals, and more will be covered in the lessons.
