growing gardeners workshops
The Growing Gardeners Workshop Series is a collaboration between City Sprouts and The Big Garden. We work together to offer four seasons of hands-on workshops that feature skills and techniques for every gardener and urban farmer: growing, cooking, preserving and eating healthy local food. All workshops are free and open to all ages.
Our workshops are broken up into three main tracks: Urban Ag School, Herbal Medicine Cabinet, and Culinary Workshops. We also have smaller workshops attached to various community events that we have throughout the year. Check out all of our workshop offerings on our Growing Gardeners website.
We love having guest teachers from our community lead workshops! Are you knowledgable about a subject that you'd like to share in a workshop? Reach out to our Education Manager and explain what skills you'd like to share.

attend Farm Fest
Every fall we celebrate Farm Fest, a fundraising event to benefit our Urban Farming Internship for youth ages 16-20. Buying tickets and participating in other giving opportunities throughout the event helps us keep this program going and annually gives 16-20 youth the opportunity to gain workforce experience while fostering a relationship with healthy food, sustainability, and community.
Donate during Omaha Gives
Omaha Gives is an online giving day, where individuals can donate to their favorite organizations and funds are matched by the Omaha Community Foundation. City Sprouts has participated in the fundraiser since 2013, and funds go towards various educational programming or large projects we having coming up that particular year.
Omaha Gives takes place annually toward the end of May. Mark your calendar to support City Sprouts on this special day of giving!
