growing gardeners workshops
The Growing Gardeners Workshop Series is a collaboration between City Sprouts and The Big Garden. We work together to offer four seasons of hands-on workshops that feature skills and techniques for every gardener and urban farmer: growing, cooking, preserving and eating healthy local food. All workshops are free and open to all ages.
Our workshops are broken up into three main tracks: Urban Ag School, Herbal Medicine Cabinet, and Culinary Workshops. We also have smaller workshops attached to various community events that we have throughout the year. Check out all of our workshop offerings on our Growing Gardeners website.
We love having guest teachers from our community lead workshops! Are you knowledgable about a subject that you'd like to share in a workshop? Reach out to our Education Manager and explain what skills you'd like to share.

Sponsorships
We would like to invite you to support our 2019 Grow With Us Gala: An Afternoon of Culinary Adventure fundraiser Sunday, August 18th from 1:30 – 4:00pm at the Metropolitan Community College Institute for Culinary Arts (Fort Street Campus). It is our goal to raise $30,000 in sponsorships to support our ongoing programming and extend our reach in the community. We are currently seeking sponsors for the event.
Your donation helps City Sprouts increase the amount of fresh, local fruits and vegetables available to our community, provide employment to under-served youth, offer education and build community. Established in 1995, City Sprouts has maintained a thriving community garden in its half acre demonstration garden at 40th and Franklin Streets in the Orchard Hill neighborhood of North Omaha. Our Decatur Urban Farm at 40th and Decatur provides a campus for our Urban Farming Internship, where produce is grown for hungry people. In 2015, we launched City Sprouts South at 19th and N Street, as our newest community garden project.
We hope you will join us as we celebrate gardening, urban farming, sustainability and community with fresh food, and engaging guests!
Questions? Please contact Roxanne Draper, Executive Director at director@omahasprouts.org or 402-216-9616.
