Little Sprouts Live

A Virtual Gardening Program for Families

With the coronavirus pandemic currently sweeping the globe, many families may be feeling stuck indoors and isolated from the community. We at City Sprouts empathize completely; we’re feeling the same way! As a community-serving organization living amid social isolation guidelines, how do we continue to bring communities together? In response to this question, the staff put our heads together to brainstorm ideas for family engagement. We sent out a survey to families asking what sorts of activities they would like to see offered virtually, and most said they would enjoy a live “TV show” for kids.

Well now it’s here! City Sprouts is proud to begin offering a live virtual show through our Facebook page called “Little Sprouts Live”, which will launch tomorrow, April 3rd at 10am. This program is designed for ages 3-8 (though anyone can watch and learn something new) and will be hosted by our Education Manager, Anna Brun, who will lead everyone through fun garden and outdoor-themed activities to do as a family! Little Sprouts Live will continue for the duration of CDC-recommended social isolation, every Friday morning at 10am. The Monday before each episode, we will post a list of recommended supplies for the week—most of which you may already have at home—on our Facebook page.

We hope this program will be a positive and fun experience for everyone during this strange time, and we hope you tune in tomorrow for our first episode!
