We are happy to announce that Katie Kresha has accepted the Executive Director position here, at City Sprouts!
Katie is a proud Omaha native and graduate of Omaha North High School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theater from the University of Nebraska Omaha and a Masters in Public Administration from Bellevue University.
She comes to City Sprouts after more than ten years working in higher education, most recently as the Business and Finance Manager for International Programs at UNO. In her role, she oversaw all budgetary and financial operations, marketing and community engagement efforts, administrative staffing, and event planning. She also worked closely with all grant-funded projects in the unit, including serving as Project Director for a $3.9 million grant-funded Institute on Civic Engagement for young people from Southeast Asia.
When not working, Katie spends most of her time with her husband, Dan, and their three children, Julia, James, and Teddy. She enjoys traveling and has been to 45 states and 12 countries so far. She also loves anything active (running, yoga, weight-lifting), anything outdoors (hiking, gardening, exploring, reading in the shade), and anything artsy (theater, music, movies).
Katie is honored and excited for her next role as Executive Director of City Sprouts. City Sprouts has such great momentum going thanks to all of the efforts of past leadership and a solid Board of Directors. The staff is dynamic, passionate, and extremely knowledgeable, creating programs and opportunities for the community that are having such a positive impact. She is most excited to support efforts towards continued growth, so City Sprouts can strengthen existing programs and create new opportunities to build sustainable, equitable food systems where they are most needed.
